Anis Ur Rahman appointed BB deputy governor
The government has cancelled the remaining
tenure of Bangladesh Bank Deputy Governor Zakir Hossain Chowdhury's contractual
appointment and appointed the central bank's former executive director Md Anis
Ur Rahman to the post for three years on a contractual basis.
According to a gazette notification issued yesterday
(6 July), Anis Ur Rahman has been appointed deputy governor for three years
from the date of joining, subject to his voluntary retirement from his current
post and suspension of his post-retirement leave (PRL).
The notification further said the other terms of
the appointment would be determined through a contract.
The order appointing Anis Ur Rahman will take
effect immediately in the public interest, reads the notification.
